History of the School of Culture and Arts
The Turkmen State School of Culture and Art was opened on March 6, 2010 by Order № 53 of Resolution № 10967 of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov dated March 4, 2010. This establishment is a state-run secondary vocational school that trains the necessary specialists for culture and art institutions, school libraries.
The Turkmen State School of Culture and Art, opened in the 2010-2011 academic year, admitted the students in the major of “Organizing Cultural and Mass Events” and “Library Science”. Students in the major of “Organizing Cultural and Mass Events” were trained for three years, and students in the major of “Library Sсience” for two years.
- In the 2012-2013 academic year, the major in "Organizing an amateur folk orchestra” was opened.
- In the 2013-2014 academic year, the majors in "The Art of Acting (Folk Theater Group)", "Directing in House of Culture" were opened.
- In the 2014-2015 academic years the majors in “Document management and archiving” and “Decoration with music and illumination” were opened.
- In 2015-2016 academic year, the “Library Science” the faculty was transferred to three-year education.
- In 2016-2017 academic year, the faculty on the “Museum science and protection of cultural monuments” was opened.
- In 2020-2021 academic year, the major in “The Art of stage scenery (Makeup)” was opened.
Our dear Arkadag, who greatly contributes to the development of science, education, art and literature, provides great opportunities for the development of new technologies and introduction of new teaching methods. On March 27, 2015, Esteemed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on unification of 76 libraries under the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan into a single electronic library system.
